Our History
Leods Contracts was formed in 1988 by Martyn MacLeod and Pippa MacLeod as a family business and still remains under the ownership of the two directors today.
Initially the business supplied internal and external doors to the building industry with the majority of its clients being local house builders operating within a 20 mile radius of the initial office base situated at Lion Chambers in the centre of Huddersfield. A move to larger premises soon followed at Batleys Mill and later Colwyn Street and the business also benefited from a steady growth in staff. By the late nineties the business had established itself as a door specialist and became one of the first members of the Fire Door Aperture Scheme through the BWF.
Having identified a niche in the market for a specialist fire door manufacturer able to offer a quality product on an effective turnaround basis, a decision was taken in 2001 to invest in the purchase of an established manufacturing base in Wakefield. This acquisition together with new purpose built fabrication premises in Huddersfield had seen a combined investment of over two million pounds, and within a very short time was rewarded with a full order book and a nationwide customer base.
Today Leods Contracts benefits from over thirty years experience as a door supplier and continues to service requests for a single door through to large bespoke orders for multi national companies, always priding itself on excellent service and quality of product.
